Jürgen Locadia fires PSV to 1-0 win over Ajax
PSV have recorded their first home win over Ajax since 2013, thanks to a goal from Locadia. The Philips Stadion erupted when his superb free kick curled up over the wall and into the top corner.

Honour, prestige, pride are invariably at stake when PSV host Ajax. PSV’s title dreams were over but the loyal fans in the East Stand had a message that the players could not possibly misunderstand.
PSV head coach Phillip Cocu handed a start to Steven Bergwijn and Bart Ramselaar to add strength and venom to the team. PSV dominated the early opening exchanges but could not create any clear-cut chances.
PSV won a free kick in a promising position, some 25 yards out, following a foul by Matthijs de Ligt on Steven Bergwijn on 25 minutes. Jürgen Locadia stepped up to take it.
Ajax goalkeeper André Onana was left without a chance as his superb free-kick curled up and over the wall, and into the top left corner. The Philips Stadium erupted as PSV had taken the lead: 1-0.
PSV looked to threaten on the counter attack after the break. They had chances to double the lead but the final pass was lacking.
Ajax enjoyed the bulk of possession but failed to create any chances of note. Both teams battled hard in a physical and tough game and committed a lot of fouls.
Jürgen Locadia and Joshua Brenet had great goal scoring opportunities in the closing stages but failed to take them.
PSV held on for a 1-0 win, closing the gap on second-placed Ajax to three points. Ajax have 75 points from 32 games, PSV have 72 points.
